At the beginning of the project, there was a lot of team discussion on the overall aesthetic of the game and this included the decision on art style. A big initial inspiration which we, gravitated towards was GRIS (2018) due to the simplistic and achievable style. We settled on a pixel art as it suited our inexperience in tile-set creation and allowed for an interesting design. The pixel style ended up being a learning curve as I had never done it before, therefore, I watched a few tutorials on youtube and found that GIMP would be a good program to use.
